Church Planting

We believe the local church should be the life source of its community; a place where people can visit any day of the week and receive practical, emotional and spiritual support. Sadly over recent generations the church has lost some of its significance and is viewed by many people in British society as being boring and irrelevant.

Like many other denominations, we are attempting to change that trend. In a nation as culturally diverse as ours, our vision is to plant all kinds of different churches that will find creative ways of connecting with their communities. We are constantly re-examining how we relate to the society in which we live. Jesus was relevant to his generation and so we believe we must be too.

As a result of our church planting efforts over the years, we are a denomination consisting of approximately 600 churches. While this may already seem like a lot, we want to see a local church established and serving in every village and town throughout Great Britain. We are looking for leaders with a pioneer spirit and missionary zeal to plant these new churches.

We also believe that some of our longer-established churches need ‘reinventing’. For whatever reason, over the years sometimes churches diminish in their ability to influence and serve their community but they have continued to maintain a presence in the community with a permanent building. We are committed to reaching communities with the gospel, and for this reason we are trying to help these churches rediscover the vitality and vision that planted them there in the first place.
