Imagine a place ...
The Christian Centre in Nottingham has just come to the end of a bold venture to put a quality piece of literature about the church through every door in Nottingham. The effort involved approximately 500 volunteers from the church’s congregation, who delivered leaflets to nearly 200,000 homes!
The booklet contains pictures of the congregation, conveying the dynamic and multi-cultural personality of the church. The leaflet aims to challenge people’s perceptions of church and invites them to come and join a place where they can belong and use their gifts.
The leaflet is linked to a website: www.imagineaplace.com where people can find more information about the church, more information about Christianity – with a model prayer that seekers are encouraged to pray, and a page where people can find a church near them.
The Christian Centre believes that the entire city of Nottingham is their Parish and, as such, has taken seriously the responsibility of spreading the Good News that Jesus is alive and that people can know him for themselves today and forever. The leadership at the church feels they have been lead to these verses in Acts 18: "Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city." (Acts 18: 9-10)
