Gift Aid is worth an extra 25 pence on every pound donated and really maximises charitable donations. In order to be able to claim gift aid on donations, donors must be UK tax payers (income or capital gains tax) and have signed a gift aid declaration form.
AoG provides a central Gift Aid Service that is available to any AoG Church that would like to claim the gift aid on donations they have received. The AoG system is incredibly easy to use. There is no need to register with HMRC, as all of the paper work has been undertaken centrally. AoG's service also ensures that AoG member church claims adhere to all HMRC guidelines, as AoG staff maintain up to date knowledge of all legislative changes. Submitting a claim is very simple, and AoG can even supply templates for treasurers to use, and its Gift Aid Department is open 8.45am to 4.45pm Mondays to Fridays for advice and support. Gift Aid declaration forms and explanatory leaflets are available from AoG.
