fulfilling our commitment to service

The Assemblies of God is a highly active fellowship of churches. Our various departments are all walking along the same path in order to reach our goals.

Each department listed below is passionate about the vision of the AoG and raises its own finances. Each one is looking for people to get involved, pray and give towards the ultimate dream! Will you?

Please look around the departments and pray about whether or not God is calling you to get involved in some way.

Church Planting

In a nation as culturally diverse as ours, our vision is to plant all kinds of churches that will reach all kinds of people. That will take a brave pioneering spirit from both those that send and those that go.

It will mean church leaders who are secure enough in God to recognise, risk and release great people who have a heart to reach those that conventional church is not touching with the love of Jesus.

It will mean people with a missionary zeal, who will creatively connect and engage with all kinds of people groups across the UK forming new communities of faith, the hallmark of which is Christ centred and mission minded.

Youth Alive

Youth Alive UK exists to see the youth and young adults of this great nation discover and run with their God given purpose. Everyone needs to know that we were made by design, by a loving and all powerful God. He has a plan to showcase his love for the planet through us. 'Fantastic!' 'Surreal!' You may say, yet true. The communication of this message is our purpose, our quest and our passion.

History books are waiting to detail the God inspired exploits of this generation. Individually we make a mark but together we make a major impact from which the reverberations will be heard by the generations to come. Anything less is unacceptable.

We are looking for those who believe that it is our day, this is our hour, to make God famous, to link with us. We invite those who resonate with the same passion to join with us on what is destined to be the ride of our lives.

Children’s Department

The AoG National Children’s Department was established in 1999 to promote the vital ministry to children, primarily within Assemblies of God, but also serving the wider community of churches within the UK and beyond. The Department supports various projects overseas, produces a termly magazine, runs summer camps for children, and organises many training days and other national children’s events. The Department has also launched ‘Treasure Kids Network’ which aims to help and encourage children across the nation.

If you join you will receive a membership pack, regular newsletters and information about kids events, competitions, magazines and resources.

Social Concern

The vision of Social Concern is to see every AoG Church actively engaged in reaching their communities through social responsibility and meeting needs in the name of Christ through love in action. The aims of Social Concern are to:

  • Network AoG and other churches together in common purpose
  • Network with National Agencies to further its aims
  • Develop Christian Social Action and meet community need
  • Raise the profile of AoG social Concern within the nation
  • Link local, regional and national levels of operation to focus on relevant need

World Ministries

The purpose of Assemblies of God World Ministries is to work towards the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). In keeping with this purpose, the World Ministries Directors seek to provide an apostolic framework in which Assemblies of God leaders, churches and missionaries can work together most effectively and strategically towards the fulfillment of the Great Commission. The World Ministries’ vision is to lay the foundation of a missionary force which will impact every nation in the world.

Mattersey Hall

Mattersey Hall is a Christian College founded in London in 1919. It is the official Bible College and training centre of Assemblies of God in Great Britain and Ireland Incorporated. At the heart of its mission both the College and the Graduate School are committed to providing an education that is innovative and marked by academic excellence. This prepares men and women for productive Christian service in vocations and ministries matched to the marketplace of the 21st Century.

Assemblies of God is one of the world's largest Pentecostal groups. However, our students are drawn from a great variety of nations, denominations and fellowships, and any Christian who is sympathetic to the aims of the College is most welcome to apply. The composition of the College is truly both international and interdenominational. The emphasis is distinctly charismatic.
