A church planting conversation - the first ever LAUNCH
It was a delight to welcome 31 delegates to AoG GB Forward Network’s first ever national “Launch” church planting Training at the National Ministry Centre in Mattersey.
Forward Network leader Kristian Thorpe said: “We wanted to create a conversation. Rather than just inspiring, it was helpful, practical and informative.”
“It was great to see as much inspiration, wisdom and passion flowing from group table conversations as from the speakers.”
Excellent sessions were led by all the Forward Network team, Lukas Dewhirst, Bryan Elliott, David Parks and Kristian Thorpe. These were practical, informational, helpful and inspirational. It was also great to welcome both Andrew Smith and Grayson Jones on behalf of the NLT with Grayson being involved in a lively and fun filled question and answer session on the Thursday evening.
Kristian said a highlight was: “The hunger of the delegates to interact and learn. There were over twelve church planters ready to plant in different locations. There were planters from every area there.”
It was also great to welcome Kingdom Bank who were one of the main sponsors of the event and hear about ways in which they can assist churches and planters. David Pearson, National Operations Manager of AOG, also spoke about some of the nuts and bolts of policies, practicalities and legalities necessary for new churches and leading a charity.
At the final session of the training they took time to pray, prophesy and commission men and women to the vital role of planting new churches. Many of these planters are giving up paid and secure roles to launch out in faith.
The future is bright!
Kristian said: “The sacrifice, passion and determination in the room was palpable. The future is bright!”
The feedback from the training in a survey from the delegates was exceptional. The delegates proved to be hungry, determined and passionate and from this group we AOG GB will be planting a number of new churches in 2017.
Lastly a big thank you must go to our friends from CMN AG USA and particularly Pastor Chris Railey Church Planting Director for AG USA who helped us with the training material and also provided each delegate with church planting materials and resources on a USB drive that would amount to £500 each.
