Christmas Greetings From John Partington and AOG GB

Dear Friend,

For me, the Christmas season has now well and truly started, and 2015 is very quickly drawing to a close.

Local churches have had or are planning carol services for the weekend, communities are being helped through their many various activities and programmes, whilst the wonderful message of Emmanuel is again being heard loud and long throughout our land.

I am not sure what your year has been like, but undoubtedly it has held many blessings and some buffetings too! Life is like that for all Christians and those who are not yet Christ followers, there are high and lows, laughter and tears, joy and sorrows and yet in the centre of it all, whatever the season, our God remains constant.

His immutability provides us all with not just a hope for the future, but also an anchor in the present.

The One born to be King over 2000 years ago still rules and reigns supreme, and no matter what the news on our TVs report, or what we hear on our radios that's happening around the globe... how wonderful to remind ourselves King Jesus is in total control -- whether we feel so or not!

My thoughts and prayers are with you, and as the New Year is only a matter of days away now, my deep desire is that you push on into all that God has for you and your Church in 2016. The folk of your community need to hear the message of Christmas, whatever the season and so my final exhortation will be from the word of the apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:2-5:

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

Every Blessing,
Your Friend,
John
