Leaders loved our brand new missions event

“It gave very practical solutions in terms of formulating a mission strategy, which is really why I came with my team.”

“It gives us a great framework to begin to have a meaningful implemented strategy of missions that helps us outwork our unique vision as a local church.”

– Nick Hughes, Senior Leader Emmanuel Church London

We’ve had outstanding feedback from our first ever Missional Development Community last week. After an inspiring, invigorating conference full of wisdom and practical application the attendees left buzzing with ideas and plans to take home to their churches and communities.

Andy Dilnot – Senior Leader of New Horizon Church in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, said: “Senior pastors are very good at doing but not so good at reviewing, so it’s good to press pause and take some time out from the office to come away with some of your team and actually review what you are doing.

“To start to ask the hard questions and the ugly questions that none of us like to ask - but these are the key questions that we need to ask.”

Dawn Martin from Greenford Gospel church said: “We are so indebted to all the organisers for putting on such a life-changing event - I thank you so much for your great Kingdom work!”

The vision of the conference was to create space for busy church teams to focus on mission, including stimulating workshop sessions using creative tools to draw out the current and future strategic missional direction of their local churches or ministry context in response to the teaching. Teams attended from churches all over AOG GB and the format worked exceptionally well, with many leaders expressing how much they valued these sessions.

Assistant Pastor at Tower Hamlets Community Church London Bex White said: “One of the things is taking control of our time so we’re not distracted from mission.

“I’m going to be reviewing my schedule and make sure someone knows from my schedule what our mission is as a church.”

Our exceptional speakers, Jossy Chacko, Gavin Calver, Bruce Hills and Dave Ferguson gave inspiring presentations to the church teams in attendance from across the UK, leaving a lasting impression.

We’re excited by the impact of this first missional learning initiative, and look forward to seeing the effects outworked in churches and ministries all over AOG GB. After the success and feedback from this forum we will be planning our next event so watch out for more details!
