The miracle of our new £3.2M church building
In December, London Riverside Church opened their new £3.2m building! We spoke with Senior Pastor Ken Williamson about the opening weekend.
"Dignitaries from the town, local Member of Parliament Jon Cruddas, council officials, the pastors of our church plant in Concarneau, Brittany and so many other guests were present at the opening. What a joy it was to testify to those gathered of the miracle working power of Jesus over the last 9 decades of this church being in existence – not to mention the miracle of getting the new build complete! Over 1000 people joined us as the ribbon was cut and the building was opened.
On the Sunday, we officially dedicated the building with Alan Hewitt as our preacher. He left us with a great challenge to cast our shadow as a church over the town in which we live. Dr Paul Alexander from Trinity Bible College, N. Dakota, USA flew in specially for the weekend and shared some thoughts on our journey and we finished our third service of the day with Michael Jarvis and Gary Skinner from the Watoto Church in Uganda finishing the whole day off in a powerful time of prayer.
We now have some wonderful amenities that have been built to a very high standard. An outstanding café, extended youth facility and dedicated Children’s Centre. Counselling rooms, pastoral office suite, meeting rooms, breakout areas and a fantastic auditorium with first class audio visual facilities.
Who did we build for? Jesus! A great community facility enabling His Name to be made famous in our town, our nation and the nations of the world."
