Rest Assured - by Keely Morley

One of the key lessons we must learn as leaders is to never undervalue rest. Work hard, give your all, be excellent in the workplace and in how you serve Jesus in church... and make sure you rest well. Too many, leaders in particular, do not value and guard rest. God has called you to this for a lifetime. He wants you to finish well. For that to be possible you need rest.

Running to the End

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

In recent years it as been a real privilege and blessing to have retired pastor Colin Whittaker and his wife Hazel as part of Arena Church. Following a short period of failing health he recently went to be with his Lord, at the grand age of 90. Colin served the Lord and our fellowship of AOG with great distinction and right to the end he 'kept the faith'.

Three Questions

Reading through the book of 1 Thessalonians recently I couldn't get past the cry of the Apostle Paul's heart to the young church there. In particular the statement right at the start of chapter one:

"We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by FAITH, your labor prompted by LOVE and your endurance inspired by HOPE in our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thess 1:2/3).

Faith, hope and love are three incredible attributes and characteristics that need to be flowing in equal measure in the lives of all Christian leaders today.
